Shade sail design finalised

A NEW design for Kawerau’s skate park shade sails has been finalised and a tender process is expected to open soon.
Kawerau District Council received an update about the shade sail replacement process during a council meeting on Tuesday.
A design for shade sail to cover the BMX track was being finalised before tenders were advertised.
The council’s regulatory and services committee agreed last year to rebuild the shade structure after the previous sails deteriorated shortly after they were built.
Operations and services manager Tom McDowall said legal action against the supplier of the first set of sails was continuing.
