Kawerau is Drone friendly

At its monthly meeting on Tuesday, the council opted to make flying drones over its reserves and roads a permitted activity.
The decision to establish the approval for the recreational activity did not meet any objections from councillors.
The move means drones can now be operated on council-owned land, reserves and roads without needing to apply for permission each time.
Conditions do apply to specific flight situations as laid out in the table below.
