Pink morning tea plans
7 July 2015
KAWERAU’S bakers and cake appreciators are invited to a pink ribbon morning tea next week to fundraise for Breast Cancer New Zealand.
The event, at Kawerau’s Jive Café, on Paora Street, runs from 10am to 11.30am tomorrow and attendees can book a place at the morning tea for $15.
Morning tea visitors are also encouraged to bring their own pink ribbon-themed baking to be judged and sold to support the fundraising effort.
Baking and extra donations are being collected at Jive in advance.
Organiser Susie Fieldhouse said the event was being run by Kawerau Women in Business, which hoped to attract 25 to 30 people.
Another Pink Ribbon event in Te Teko is planned for Thursday.
The shared brunch at the Te Teko community hall begins at 10am and will celebrate breast cancer survivors. It is open to anyone.
