Long serving Kawerau JPs recognised

LONG SERVING: Helen Stewart, president of the Eastern Bay Justices of the Peace Association, presents Murray Hansen with a certificate for 50 years of service.
THREE Kawerau residents were recognised this week for their outstanding service as Justices of the Peace, with 114 years’ service between them.
Murray Hansen received a certificate to mark his 50 years in the role, while Paul Heke has completed 30 years and Lyn Hartley has retired after 34 years of service.
The trio received the awards during a Kawerau District Council meeting on Tuesday in front of fellow members of the Eastern Bay Justices of the Peace Association.
