Healthy Homes checks continue
6 March 2015
ENERGY and maintenance checks on properties included in Kawerau’s Neighbourhoods of Healthy Homes project restarted in January after a successful barbecue to end 2014.
Economic development officer Su Cammell told the Kawerau District Council regulatory and services committee on February 10 about the progress.
She said 37 energy and maintenance checks were carried out on the latest neighbourhood over December and January.
These included 12 quick fixes with adjustments for water pressure, cisterns and Ajax valves.
She said approximately 100 people attended an end-of-year barbecue for participating streets on December 4 at Te Whata Tau o Putauaki School.
The group included young couples and children who had not been part of events before, she said.
The project supplied the food, which was prepared with the help of residents.
