About KADAP

“Assisting members to remain living in their own homes in comfort and security”

Pictured are some of our enthusiastic Volunteers.

Introduction

This is a local initiative researched and developed by locals and sponsored by KEA INC (Kawerau Enterprise Agency Inc) and Hamertons to serve the needs of our ageing residents who are home owners.

Home maintenance can be a easily forgotten chore, especially as we age and find we are not as nimble as we once were.

KADAP provides assistance in filling the gaps while working alongside health and social service, Trades-people and agencies and community organisations.

Our Vision

Is to provide and maintain an organisation tailored to meet the needs of our older residents who want to remain in their own homes with safety and dignity.

Solution

To achieve this, KADAP utilises a talented, mature, vetted volunteer, local work force who collectively combine a multitude of skills, providing solutions where help is requested or required.

Where home handy man jobs are too much even for our volunteers, then local Trades-persons are engaged.

KADAP Membership

Membership of KADAP allows homeowners to access this pool of volunteer help, for cost effective solutions to minor problems before they become big problems. Belonging to KADAP can provide effective solutions by engaging with local Trades who often provide their professional services at discounted rates.

Another aspect of KADAP membership encourages socialisation e.g. visiting and talking, reading, playing scrabble or chess. KADAP can even provide drivers for local destinations, ( excludes hospitals or Doctors as other service agencies take care of this).

Behind the Scenes

The office is staffed by friendly Volunteer Administrators and our recently employed Co-ordinator, Gary Hinton.

Apart from linking with other services and groups this Team develops activities and entertainment programmes allowing socialising opportunities for members.
