Kicking the habit in Kawerau

29 May 2014

Campbell Live congratulates the forestry town of Kawerau, in the Bay of Plenty – a community with one of the highest rates in the country for Maori smokers.  Thanks to the WERO Challenge, – which is run nationwide – Kawerau is slowly turning smokefree.   Wero in the Māori language means ‘challenge’, and it’s a programme for people quitting together, rather than individuals trying to go it alone.

Anna Burns-Francis (TV3 Campbell Live) takes a look at the new and improved Kawerau.
